The 2011 Austin Jewish Film Festival (AJFF) is pleased to honor the Schusterman Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Texas at Austin and its charismatic director, Robert Abzug, Ph.D., for stellar contributions to local, national and international Jewish communities. The Center was created in the fall of 2007 and provides a multi-disciplinary Jewish Studies curriculum for students at UT-Austin. <more>
Alex Sole, who passed away in late 2010, had a small but colorful speaking role in the short film, Honorarium, shown at the Austin Jewish Film Festival in April 2010. He loved attending the Festival every year, usually seeing two movies each night. Alex was a dear friend to the Austin Jewish Film Festival. We’ll miss seeing him in a seat watching a film and his presence on the screen. <more>
